Structural Investigations of Signaling Protein Complexes at the Plant Membrane

Structural and functional investigations of Rop proteins and their complexes as well as membrane-associated kinases that are involved in executing directional plant growth under changing environmental conditions.

This master thesis will be conducted in close collaboration with plant biologists at TUM (Freising). The candidate will use NMR and other structural (EM, X-ray), biophysical (calorimetry, fluorescence, CD spectroscopy, etc) and biochemical tools (protein ligation, chemical protein modification, nanodisc assembly, isotope labeling, assay setup) for obtaining structural and functional insights on Rop proteins and their complexes as well as membrane-associated kinases that are involved in executing directional plant growth under changing environmental conditions.

The work will be conducted at the lab of Structural membrane Biochemistry at the Bavarian NMR Center (Prof. Hagn). The anticipated starting date is November/December 2022 but can be subject to negotiation. For further information, please contact Prof. Hagn (franz.hagn[ät]tum.de).
